Ready-made Frames

For years we have produced a range of ready made frames which are so popular that very often we cannot keep up with demand! We endeavour to stock a frames from small photo size to those suitable for large posters.

Sizes
In general we manufacture to a range of
imperial standard sizes:-

• 5 x 3.5 inches (c. 127 x , 89mm),
• 5 x 4 inches (c. 127 x 102mm),
• 6 x 4 inches (c.152 x 102mm),
• 7 x 5 inches (c. 178 x 127mm),
• 8 x 6 inches (c. 203 x 152mm),
• 9 x 7 inches (c. 229 x 178mm),
• 10 x 8 inches(c. 254 x 203mm),
• 12 x 10 inches (c. 305 x 254mm).

The smaller sizes are supplied with glass, plain mountboard and strutback.

7 x 5 inches and over are supplied with glass, bevel cut mount and strutback or hanging back

Range of larger sizes:-

• 14 x 10 inches (c. 356 x 254mm),
• 15 x 11 inches (c. 381 x 279mm),
• 16 x 12 inches (c. 406 x 305mm),
• 18 x14 inches (457 x 356mm),
• 20 x 16 inches (508 x 406mm).

These are supplied with glass, bevel cut mount, backboard screw eyes and cord for hanging.

A4 Frames

• 11.75 x 8.25 inches (c. 297 x 210mm).

Square Frames
The demand for square frames is quite limited and as a consequence they
very often get overlooked in the pressure of production! However, when
we do make them these are the sizes:-

• 4 x 4 inches (c. 102 x 102mm),
• 4.5 x 4.5 inches (c. 114 x 114mm),
• 5 x 5 inches (c. 127 x 127mm),
• 6 x 6 inches (c. 152 x 152mm) ,
• 7 x 7 inches (c. 178 x 178mm),
• 8 x 8 inches (c. 203 x 203mm) ,
• 10 x 10 inches (c. 254 x 254mm).

Sometimes you may be lucky and get a bevel cut mount on the larger sizes, but
more often than not there will be a plain piece of mountboard together with glass
and backboard.

Mouldings

Up to 10 x 8 inches, (c. 254 x 203mm), are made using 13mm (c. 0.5") plain wood,
gold and a 15mm (c. 0.6") walnut with gold line.

12 x 10 inches (c. 305 x 254mm) to 20 x 16 inches (508 x 406mm), we use a larger gold (20mm / 0.79") ), a larger walnut with gold line (25mms / 0.98"), blue/grey wash (25mm / 0.98") and a flat pine (25mm / 0.98").

A4 frames are made using 13mm / c. 0.5" plain sections in gold, black, dark brown,
natural wood and sometimes a 15mm / 0.6" walnut with gold line.

In addition to the regular mouldings, in the best interests of economy, we use up small offcuts by making them into ready made frames. So there is always a selection in a random choice of mouldings.
